I design manage systems and develop, mechanics & economies for games and enterprise simulations using data science, AI/ML, phychology, and first principles.

A few interesting things about me, I'm a runner, I love to exercise. I love to read science fiction (my favorite are among LOTR, Star Wars, and The Matrix. I'm an avid gamer, I love to play competitive strategy games and first-person shooters. Lastly, I love learning new things. My filosophy on learning is based around an itterative approach to research & development. My pilars of investigation are primarily focused on gaming, AI, simulations, blockchain, or miscellaneous facts about the universe.
I studied Business Engineering @ the University of Business & Economics in El Salvador, and have specialized in data science with a large focus on building games, and engaging consumer digital products.
I'm currently working on developing an open-source framework that leverages machine learning to analyze player & asset behaviors in games in order to help create dynamic balancing mechanics for game economies.
I’m interested in crazy ideas, body tech upgrades, life extension, curing cancer; or creating virtual worlds where none of this matters.
There exists a subtle art in constructing balanced game economies, and it currently stands as my primary focus of research.
Data visualization, simulations with Python, NumPy, Parallel computing using Hive/Spark Hadoop. Heat Map Segmentation, Oh my!
There are a lot of interesting things that can be achieved, and automated by applying ML. I am passionate about learning the theory the is pushing the cutting edge.
Analyzing player patterns & behaviors is not always strictly analytic, and therefore understanding humans is important.
I try to stay as up to date as possible on games and their mechanics. For me game design is about collaboration and creativity.
As a bit of a nerd for things related to science fiction, storytelling through words or data is something I really enjoy.

Economy design is my bread & butter. Game design is broad topic that I understand very well from an operations perspective & can communicate with stakeholders in each relevant area such as tech-art, devs, & marketing. I'm an aspiring Narrative Designer, hoping to someday be able to communicate my imagination as well as Tolkien.
My core area of research has been around how machine learning could help improve balancing economies
and live ops analytics.
With an analytical background, I'm able to dissect and interpret player behavior metrics in Live Ops.
- Adjust game parameters to ensure that all in-game items and mechanics are balanced.
- Understand the balance between monetization and player satisfaction.
- Establish the value, role, and flow of virtual currencies within the game.
- Control inflation and deflation within the game's economy to find best monetization strategies.
- Predict how changes can affect the overall game economy.
- Model potential outcomes of different economy-related decisions.
Recognize what drives players to make purchases or invest time in specific gameplay mechanics.
Understand competitor games and their monetization and economy strategies.
Game Design is a collaborative effort. I can integrate with large teams, to assist in areas such as:
- Mechanics Development: Creation and refinement of the fundamental actions players can take in the game.
- Flow & Engagement: Ensuring players remain engaged and experience a balance between challenge and skill
- Project Management: Coordinating the development process, managing timelines, and ensuring milestones are met.
- Quality Assurance: Coordinating testing phases to identify bugs, glitches, or design issues and ensuring they get resolved.
- Mapping and Layout: Ability to design interactive spaces that facilitate gameplay, guide player movement, and create a sense of place.
- Pacing and Progression: Understanding of how to gradually introduce gameplay mechanics and increase difficulty to maintain player engagement.
- Environmental Storytelling: Skill in conveying narrative or context through the game's environment, objects, and spatial relationships.
- Physics and Interaction: Understanding how objects move and interact in the game world.
- Player Tools and Abilities: Designing the skills, tools, or powers available to players.
- Progression Systems: Crafting systems that track and reward player progression.
- AI Design: Building intelligent behaviors for non-player characters.
Storytelling is a passion hobby that I've always enjoyed. I believe it is an art form, and I'm intersted in exploring how Generative AI can benefit the creative narrative process.
- Character Backstories: Crafting detailed histories and motivations for characters.
- Relationship AI: Designing AI systems that remember and evolve NPC relationships based on player interactions.
- Plot Structuring: Crafting a cohesive and compelling storyline with clear beginnings, middles, and ends.
- World-building: Creating a rich, immersive setting with its own history, culture, and rules.
- Branching Narratives: Designing stories that offer multiple paths and outcomes based on player choices.
- Dynamic Dialogue: Creating dialogue systems that react to player decisions and game states.
- Character Behavior: Implementing AI algorithms to make non-player characters (NPCs) react authentically to player-driven story events.
- Procedural Narratives: Creating stories that evolve using procedural generation and AI algorithms.
- Feedback Loops: Using AI to analyze player choices and refine subsequent narrative branches.
- Narrative-driven AI Challenges: Crafting gameplay challenges or puzzles that change based on the story's progression, driven by AI.
